The players really deserved the three points after showing great unexpected performance in this critical clash especially the legendary playmaker Mohamed AbouTrika who managed to score two goals in the second half to come back from behind awarding his colleagues a valuable victory.
The youngster Rami Rabia made his debut today with the senior team and showed great performance and great ability in interception and building attacks.
Al Ahly started attacking from the first minute until Sherif Abdel Fadeel managed to win a free kick at the edge of the box which AbouTrika placed in the angle but the opposition’s keeper managed to block the ball.
In the 23rd minute, Sayed Moawad made an accurate cross to AbouTrika in the box whose shot came little higher than the target.
In the 34th minute, Haras El Hodood was awarded a distant free kick that was crossed inside the box into Abou El So’oud’s hands but the youngster couldn’t manage to grip the ball which fell in front of Naday, the opposition’s striker, who managed to place it in the empty target giving his team the lead.
In the last minute of the first half, Shehab El Din made a beautiful cross to AbouTrika whose volley was blocked by the opposition’s keeper.
One minute after the start of the second half, AbouTrika received Fathi’s accurate cross with a beautiful header that hit the target scoring the equalizer for the Red Devils.
In the 57th minute, Mohamed Nagy Geddo broke through the defense receiving a nice through pass that put him alone with the keeper but his shot came too wide.
One minute later, Abou El So’oud managed to save a nice header from the international playmaker Ahmed Eid showing great reflexes.
Afroto, Al Ahly’s youngster, entered as a substitute for Sayed Moawad in the 75th minute.
Hossam Ghaly, Al Ahly’s skipper, made a nice through pass to Fadl inside the box who was tripped by the keeper and was awarded a penalty kick that was diverted by AbouTrika into the net giving Al Ahly the lead for the first time in the game.
Geddo was substituted with the defensive midfielder Motaz Eno in the 84th minute in order to maintain the lead.
In the 90th minute Abou El So’oud managed to keep the danger away after a one on one situation to maintain Al Ahly’s lead.
The Red Devils earned their 23rd point while Haras El Hodood remained with 17 points in hand.
