Goma and Hosni contract renewals on hold

Al-Ahly board has decided to postpone contract talks with Osama Hosni and Wael Gomaa until the African Super Cup match takes place on Friday.

The decision was made to allow the players to focus on the tense fixture against the Tunisian side Sfaxien.

Meanwhile, the physios are racing against time to prepare team star Abutreika who is still a major doubt for Friday’s encounter.

Abutreika has a brilliant record against Sfaxien, scoring an extraordinary stoppage time winner in the 2006 African Champion League final.

Hossam Ashour and El Mohamadi are back to training but are also doubts, lacking match practice after a lengthy layoff.
