Five diamonds added to the Egyptian crown

Egypt has won 5 continental prizes in the CAF awards ceremony for 2008 to prove that she is still the crowned princess of Africa.

 

 

 

                                                                             

 

 

 

Mohamed AbouTrika, Al Ahly and Egypt's star midfielder, was awarded the title of the best player inside Africa for 2008 after competing with Flavio, Al Ahly's striker, and Stephen Wurgo.

 

The Egyptian national soccer team was crowned as the best national team in the continent being compared to Nigeria and Cameroon who were nominated for the title.

 

Al Ahly has been chosen to be the best club in Africa after winning the CAF champions league for the sixth time in 2008 besides the Egyptian league, Super Cup and participating in the CWC Japan 2008.

 

Hassan Shehata, Egypt's manager, won the title of the best coach in Africa in 2008 after he led Egypt in their way towards the Africa Cup of Nations which they won in Ghana 2008. The Egyptian coach was chosen after a great competition with Manuel Jose, Al Ahly's Portuguese coach.

 

Also Al Ahly fans and supporters were chosen to be the best after their great support in all the championships Al Ahly participated in this year.

 

On the other hand, Emmanuel Adebayor, Arsenal's striker, won the award of the best African player in 2008 after a hard competition with AbouTrika who was chosen as the best player inside the continent and Michael Essien, Chelsea's striker.
